Help improve patient comfort and care on the 5th floor

Patient care and comfort is of utmost importance to our dedicated staff. Recent upgrades to the 5th floor have begun to transform this space into a more welcoming and restorative environment, but an investment in modern furnishings is necessary to support the healing and recovery of patients.

In order for The Vic's highly-skilled staff to deliver the highest level of care and comfort, new furnishings such as an ergonomically correct chair, versatile tray table and handy bedside table are required to ensure the needs of patients are being met both medically and with a high degree of comfort.

“We want to do everything we can to get people back to their homes with the supports they need.”

Gillian Crymble, Manager of Patient Care

Providing the comforts of home, such as sitting in a comfortable chair away from the confines of a hospital bed, can make a significant impact in the healing process.

"Getting patients out of bed and into a chair is really important to healing," says Gillian Crymble, Manager of Patient Care. "We want to do everything we can to get people back to their homes with the supports they need. Part of that is being able to mimic a home environment. We need patients in hospital in hospital to be able to get up and have lunch in a chair or table which ultimately promotes returning home."

These essential furnishings require a total investment of $105,000 to ensure this environment is as comfortable as possible for patients and families.

Every dollar you give brings us one step closer to improving the care and comfort of patients on the 5th floor.
