Scholarships

Victoria Hospital Foundation has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships since 2003.

These awards, made possible through the generosity of our endowment fund supporters, provide our highly-skilled medical professionals with educational opportunities that allow them to access the latest technologies and new clinical skills that help them to provide better care.

Laerdal SimMan 3G

Together with the generosity of donors, Victoria Hospital Foundation invested in a Laerdal SimMan 3G in 2012. This effective educational technology offers educators the ability to provide realistic challenging scenarios based on simulation to test critical thinking and clinical decision making. Simulation training helps staff practice working together as a team under realistic conditions. This type of hands-on training improves communication and coordination skills, which in turn helps to enhance patient care at Victoria Hospital.

The Laerdal SimMan 3G is a key piece of Victoria Hospital’s Hearne Learning Centre, which provides staff with hands-on training using state-of-the-art equipment.
