New Stroke Care Tools Help Patients Heal and Recover

Patients who experience a stroke often require rehabilitation as part of their recovery. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we have invested $4,000 in specialized stroke care tools and treatment activities designed specifically to promote their healing and help them return to their daily activities.

These valuable tools and activities support the improvement of a patient's upper body function including range of motion, strengthening, and coordination as well as dexterity skills to help improve the functional use of a patient's arm and hand.

"These treatment tools and activities enable our staff to provide best practice stroke care," said Jennifer Busch, Manager of Therapeutic Services. "They are fundamental in helping our patients heal and recover so they can safely return home."

The specialized tools can also be used to aid in the recovery of all types of patients at The Vic who need upper body strengthening or to work on their fine motor skills as a result of injuries other than stroke. The treatment activities can be performed one-on-one with a patient or in a group setting to encourage socialization among patients with similar recovery needs.
