Innovative Equipment Provides Invaluable Continuous Staff Learning
Like so many things in today’s world, basic lifesaving training equipment is continually improving.
Technological innovations can now provide real-time digital feedback on the effectiveness of training practices. Acting quickly can mean the difference between life and death.
Thanks to your generosity, Victoria Hospital’s Education Team recently received upgrades to their lifesaving training equipment. Tools included IV arms, five new practice mannequins of various sizes, and additional feedback devices and accessories, making practicing these skills as realistic as possible.
The team now have access to better-than-ever, high-quality Basic Life Support (Heart and Stroke BLS Certification) and Code Blue training. All thanks to you.
When saving lives, every second counts. That’s why staff in all critical areas of the hospital are required to maintain Heart and Stroke BLS Certification, and for all staff to be prepared and trained for Code Blue situations. Until recently, the Education Team was working with equipment past its prime.
Training is now more interactive than ever, thanks to your generosity. Candace Alao, Clinical Nurse Educator, affirmed: “This new equipment replaces older, well-used equipment and ensures that staff can continue developing life-saving skills in a realistic, hands-on environment.”
Training is vital to saving lives, and donors are a valuable part of this team. This training not only impacts patient care here at The Vic, but staff carry these skills into the community. Whether Victoria Hospital staff are at a sporting event, the mall, or at home with friends and family, the skills can save lives.
“On behalf of us all, thank you for helping strengthen education and patient safety at Victoria Hospital,” says Candace Alao.
