Accessible Care

We are all entitled to healthcare and require access to it in order to sustain us and help us live our best lives. Our vision of accessible healthcare is rooted in inclusivity and compassion.

We want to remove barriers to timely care and support to ensure people in our community can engage with the services they need, when and where they need them. Through improved use of space, technologies, equipment, resources, and information we seek to enhance health and safety at Victoria Hospital and in our community.

Victoria Hospital Foundation enhances accessible care in the following areas:
Father and daughter with lifeline

Victoria Lifeline

Victoria Lifeline is a community service partner of Victoria Hospital Foundation. They are dedicated to empowering independence through their potentially life-saving medical alert service.

For the past 30 years, Victoria Lifeline’s subsidy program has helped Manitobans live safely and independently regardless of their financial situation by providing emergency response devices to all eligible individuals at a subsidized rate. The program has helped thousands of Manitobans live with confidence and dignity in the comfort of their own home.

Urgent Care

Victoria Hospital’s Urgent Care department provides coordinated and focused care for non-life-threatening health concerns 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients benefit from more privacy, less noise, and a more comfortable environment. The Urgent Care department is home to the Manitoba Blue Cross Mental Health Assessment Unit, a dedicated space for our community to receive individualized mental health assessments and care in a private and supportive environment.

With a new emergency department on the horizon for Victoria Hospital, this department stands to make an even greater impact on the health of our community.
