A Message from the CEO- A Summer of Gratitude

A husband and father whose life was saved by Victoria Hospital’s dedicated Urgent Care team. Individuals experiencing homelessness finding connections, opportunities, and supports through better access to care and services. Clients at ACCESS Fort Garry socializing and learning new skills through a cooking class designed to support their mental health.

These are just a handful of the thousands of people in our community who are experiencing the life-changing impact of your kindness every day. As you read their stories in the latest issue of Voice, I hope you feel proud to know that your caring heart is helping our friends and neighbours live happier and heathier lives.

With the warm weather (finally!) upon us, I find myself reflecting on all that your generosity has made possible in recent months and looking ahead to even more celebrations in the months and weeks to come. As I write this note to you, construction continues on Tranquility Trail, our new greenspace at Victoria Hospital. Our shared vision of a dedicated outdoor space to support the mental wellness of our community and facilitate programming for patients in our Mental Health program is becoming a reality – and it’s all thanks to you.

I hope you take some time this summer to relax with family and friends, enjoy the sunshine, and know that your ongoing support is making a world of difference in lives of those who need it most. Thank you for caring about the health of our patients, healthcare workers, and community.

With gratitude,

Nicole Chammartin
