A Message From The CEO

A Season of Caring

December is upon us once again, and it’s a time of year when many of us reflect on the past year. There has been so much to celebrate over these past 12 months, and it’s all thanks to you.

Your caring spirit has helped to accomplish so much this year. From the opening of the Will & Mavis Tishinski Tranquility Trail to the launch of our Healthy Community Partnership Grants, together we are a healthier community each and every day.

In this issue of Voice, you will meet just a few of the many people who are benefitting from your life-changing kindness. We’ll introduce you to Maria, a nurse in the Manitoba Blue Cross Mental Health Assessment Unit at Victoria Hospital, who gives us an inside look at care inside the unit following its one-year anniversary. You’ll meet Mathew and Emmanuel, two of the many staff at Victoria Hospital and ACCESS Fort Garry who are developing new skills to improve care thanks to your generosity. We’ll shine a spotlight on Ted Foreman and Will & Mavis Tishinski, whose generosity is changing lives here at our hospital. And finally, the Wellness Committees at Victoria Hospital and ACCESS Fort Garry will show us how your support of staff wellness translates into better care for individuals in our community.

These important investments would not be possible without you. Your ongoing support is making a meaningful impact on quality, innovative, and accessible care, and in this issue of Voice you’ll read more about how your generosity is making a difference in these areas.

I can’t thank you enough for the way you have rallied your support behind us this past year. I’m grateful to you for caring so much about the kind of care available for our community when needed. There are so many reasons to be excited about the year ahead, and I can’t wait to see what we will accomplish together.

I wish you and your loved ones the joy of the holiday season and all the best in 2024.

With gratitude,

Nicole Chammartin
