Community Health and Well-Being

Your support is creating healthier futures for the people in our community.

A healthy community is about so much more than the absence of disease and illness. It is about attaining and maintaining the highest quality of physical and mental health for every person, regardless of age or socioeconomic status. It is about proper nutrition, regular physical activity, and access to high quality healthcare when needed. Most of all, it is about a better quality of life for ourselves, for our loved ones, and for our neighbours.

At The Victoria General Hospital Foundation, we are committed to fostering a vibrant community in which we can all flourish and live our best lives. Through the generosity of our supporters, we invest in initiatives at Victoria Hospital and in our community that promote health and wellness, prevent disease and injury, and help us all to enjoy a better quality of life.

We have a proud history of improving the health and well-being of our community through innovation. By establishing a women’s heart health program, we’ve worked to reduce and prevent heart disease in women. We empower Manitobans to live independently through our #1 medical alert service Victoria Lifeline. We are looking to discover ways to better support informal caregivers of older adults living with dementia through our unique telepresence robot research project. We also nurture the mental, physical, and spiritual health of our patients, families, and staff through our restorative Miracle Garden.

A healthier community is a stronger community, and together we can continue to support its growth and development and help each other enjoy happier, healthier, and longer lives.
